Our client is a major international supplier of innovative and cost-effective, thermoformed packaging solutions to the major food manufacturers and retailers. Against a background of increasing market growth throughout Europe and especially from the UK's major multiples this exceptional opportunity has been created for a UK home-based Business Development Manager.
The company employs approximately a thousand people across five European countries and is part of a highly successful packaging group with fifty sites in thirteen countries. Its open culture, can-do attitude and short lines of communication are an attractive proposition not only to career professionals but also to large international customers seeking responsive proactive key suppliers.
You will capitalise on this, and the strong growth of the convenience food packaging sector, by:
- Managing and directing its business development and sales activities, with a key focus on the major retailers.
- Identifying new business opportunities whilst continuingly refining relationships with existing and new customers.
- Acting as the lynchpin between local sales, production and business management teams, facilitating a level of customer service to exceed expectations.
To succeed in the role you must have:
- A successful international sales or business development track record supplying a retail, and ideally food, customer base.
- Sound business acumen, the ability to demonstrate viable growth scenarios, and the energy and integrity to gain the confidence and commitment of team members, senior managers and customers to build long term business.
Whilst experience in the packaging industry is not essential, it would be an advantage.
